MegaDojo Sofia 2.0 - a fun day for children, organized by CoderDojo Bulgaria and a Digital National Coalition, which will mark the end of Bulgaria's successful presidency of the Council of the EU, is to be held on June 30, at 10:00 am at the National Palace of Culture

The event is organized by volunteers and is supported by Microsoft Bulgaria, Vivacom and UBER Engineering Sofia. It is also free for children. Any child and parent who wants to get acquainted with technology and want to spend a day full of challenges can participate Pre-registration is required at https://www.megadojo.org/, which will be active until open spots are filled. MegaDojo Sofia 2.0 is suitable for children aged 7 to 13, their parents and teachers. During the event, kids will have the opportunity to participate in many entertaining tech workshops with Scratch, STEAM, Micro: bit, robots and more! The main objective of CoderDojo Bulgaria's volunteers is to prepare children for the future, where technologies will play an increasingly important role and at the same time to develop children's skills for their successful realization; children have to be able to solve problems, to work in teams, to implement ideas and present them in a convincing way. What is unique about the dojo clubs is that they are not only free but also that the process of acquiring new knowledge and skills is casual, extremely entertaining and consistent with the age and level of children.

CoderDojo Bulgaria is part of the large family of CoderDojo, a global network of over 1,500 free kids programming clubs in over 60 countries. In those dojo clubs, with the help of volunteer mentors, children between the ages of 7 and 17 learn the possibilities of technology. CoderDojo Bulgaria started in 2015 with a club in Sofia and quickly gained popularity. Today there are 10 clubs in Sofia, Varna and Vratsa, and in autumn 2018 another 10 new clubs will open for the curious ninjas.
