Are we ready for the biggest reform in the area of personal data protection? The Ministry for the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU and the Digital National Alliance invite you to a conference on the topic of "GDPR Sofia", which will discuss the forthcoming entry of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) into force - in short, the general regulation on the protection of personal data.
The one-day practical conference will take place on January 29 (Monday) in Sofia.
The General Regulation is due to enter into force in May 2018 under the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU and becomes binding on any business operating personal data. If your company or organization operates with the personal data of European citizens, the regulation will require a substantial change in the processes - a change that you need to be ready for. Any organization processing the personal information of EU citizens will have to comply with a number of provisions or will be subjected to significant sanctions.
Within the conference "GDPR Sofia", you will have the opportunity to hear the recommendations of leading European and national experts and address your questions personally to Maria Gabriel, European Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society, Lilyana Pavlova, Minister of the Bulgarian Presidency of the EU Council and Ventsislav Karadzhov, Chairman of the Commission for Personal Data Protection.
